Graves Ledge and Graves Light are private property. Landing on the property is prohibited without the express consent of the owners. Individuals on the ledge or lighthouse without permission are trespassers.
Graves Light moorings may not be used without the permission of the owners.
The ledge and lighthouse host dangerous natural and man-made hazards. The owners are not responsible for injury or death of anyone not authorized to be on Graves.
No public facilities exist on Graves Ledge or at Graves Light.
Drones and aerial imagery
It is forbidden to fly drones over Graves Ledge and Graves Light, which sit within the boundaries of the Boston Harbor Islands Recreation Area, a part of the US National Parks Service. Federal regulations prohibit the flying of drones within National Parks Service boundaries because they disturb people and wildlife.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classifies airspace around Graves Ledge and Graves Light as Class B Area A Controlled Airspace. Flying drones or remotely-piloted vehicles around Graves Light requires a Part 107 FAA waiver. Violation is a federal crime punishable by a fine of up to $250,000.
