Sketch of The Graves

Engineers debated whether to build a Broad Sound channel marking lighthouse on the submerged Finn’s Ledge, or on the protruding parts of The Graves.

They opted for Graves Ledge. Here is a copy of the original Army Corps of Engineers sketch of the rocky ledge, courtesy of the Massachusetts Historical Society.
